Revision

Good luck with all your revision over the weekend - let me know if there's anything I can do to help. Remember you've all got my email address, or leave comments on the blog and I'll help.

You've got all the past papers for the modules with answers so use them! Work your way through the checklist and check on mymaths if you're not sure.

From today's lesson, all you need is that the trig functions/graphs can be found using the unit circle,  remember that x = r cos a   and y = r sin a,   where x,y are the co-ordinates, r is the radius, and a is the angle. Draw out the circles to help.

Good luck with the revision, and I'll see you all on Monday morning - remember those calculators!

Revision....

Can you bring in the exam paper to continue in tomorrow's lesson?

Let me know if there's any topics in particular that you'd like to look at.

So far I've had suggestions of
Histograms, Moving Averages, Simultaneous Equations & Transforming Graphs.

Anything else?

Solving Quadratics

One quick way of solving quadratics could be to use factorising

Work through this mymaths link and check that you understand what goes on

Solving Quadratics by Factorising

The formula will always work, but this way might be easier to use if the quadratic will factorise...

Again, let me know if you need any help

linear programming (q2)

Hi all,

I've had quite a few questions about the linear programming (q2) on the sheet.

Have a look at the mymaths lesson
Linear Programming

which might help.

Think about c = number of coaches, m = number of minibuses.

What is the maximum c could be? What is the maximum m could be?

How many seats would there be altogether?
Think about how to write it in words and then put it into algebra...

Number of coaches x 54 + number of minibuses x 24
and this must cover all the supporters & staff who want to go (407+25?)

Leave a comment if you need help with any of the questions or want to know how I got my answers...
